We use Computer Output Microfilm (COM) recorders to write your digital photos directly onto archival silver-halide microfiche. This creates physical film that lasts 500+ years, readable with any microfiche reader.
Microfiche is EMP-proof, format-independent, and requires no electricity or specialized software to read. Unlike digital files that become obsolete or corrupted, microfiche remains readable for centuries.
For our US microfiche copies, standard fiche holds 98–270 frames depending on resolution. Our Arctic facility uses proprietary film technology with significantly higher capacity - specialized film can store thousands of high-resolution images per sheet.
